Adventures in the Gorges
Slovakia
May 1–3, 2026

The Slovak Paradise National Park is famous for its dramatic gorges cutting through the mountain massif, creating amazing opportunities for adventure and active travel.

The gorges, canyons, and narrow valleys are equipped with ladders, chains, and railings for safe passage. We will hike along rocky canyon floors right next to rushing mountain streams and waterfalls, experiencing the landscape from up close.

Group size: up to 7 people.

Program

3 days of hiking through gorges and canyons.

We can travel together from Budapest, or meet directly in Slovakia in the village of Hrabušice.

Day 1

Arrival, lunch, and an ascent to a mountain summit with views of the surrounding area and the High Tatras. Dinner after returning.

Day 2

The Suchá Belá canyon. Rocks, waterfalls, and cascades — ladders and platforms are built right above them. We will cross the stream many times on foot.

On the first day, there will also be an easy warm-up walk through a simple gorge and an evening walk to a very picturesque mountain lake surrounded by forest, with a small island in the middle.

After leaving the canyon, we will have lunch in a quiet forest to the sound of birdsong.

Day 3

The Hornád and Kláštorisko canyons — even more adventure! The Hornád is a real mountain river, and the trail runs right above it. Safe, but very exciting.

After about an hour or an hour and a half, we turn toward the Kláštorisko stream, with more waterfalls and cascades.

We cross the river and the stream by suspension bridges, horizontal ladders, and by wading, and climb a rocky slope with the help of handrails.
After the canyons, we descend the mountain, have lunch in a meadow, and return home.

Accomodation

In 4-person cabins. The conditions are simple and hiking-style, heating is available, and the shower and toilet are in a separate building.

The cabins get booked up very quickly, and if we do not manage to reserve them in time, we will have to stay in tents.
